Cannabis vs. Catnip: What Pet Owners Should Know

Home / Blog / Cannabis vs. Catnip: What Pet Owners Should Know

🌿Currently, there’s no plant that’s more trending and talked about than “cannabis.”

🐶 😺The cannabis that’s trending now is different from “catnip,” which we commonly know as “catnip” or “catnip,” a plant from a different family. Catnip belongs to the mint family and is scientifically named Nepeta Cataria, while the cannabis currently trending is scientifically named Cannabis sativa indica, a herbaceous plant. They are completely different in both leaf and stem structure.

Precautions for cannabis (Cannabis sativa indica), especially when your pet accidentally bites the cannabis leaves or inhales the smoke from the owner’s cannabis use 🐶 😺

Symptoms of poisoning in pets after consuming cannabis:
🌟Lethargy, restlessness
🌟Slow or fast heartbeat
🌟Body temperature higher or lower than normal
🌟Muscle spasms, twitching, dilated pupils
🌟Vomiting and excessive drooling
🌟Incontinence (unable to control urination)

🌿Even though cannabis is trending now, it’s not suitable for pets. Remember, dogs, cats, and humans are not the same. If you’re using it, make sure to store it securely and out of reach of pets to prevent them from chewing on it and causing harm.
